He was named "Best in Boston" by Boston Magazine for Internal Medicine (1999) and for Gastroenterology (2000, 2001, 2011-2015, 2017). He joined Digestive Health Associates in 2000, and still holds a teaching position at Boston University School of Medicine, with medical students rotating into his practice all year. Marcal started his private practice in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Stoneham in 1982. He served as Chief of Gastroenterology at New England Memorial Hospital in Stoneham from 1985-1990, and as Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine from 1990-1995. He is board certified in Gastroenterology and in Internal Medicine. He then completed a Gastroenterology Fellowship at Yale-New Haven Hospital, CT. His Internal Medicine training included Internship, Residency, and Chief Residency at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital, NYC. Marcal received his BA from Hamilton College, and his MD from Columbia University, NYC. Libby is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.ĭr. He has served on the board of the New England Endoscopy Society and is past Medical Director for the Winchester Ambulatory Care Unit and the Winchester Hospital Endoscopy Center. After working as Assistant Professor of Medicine and Associate Director of Endoscopy at Tufts University Medical Center, he joined the staff at Digestive Health Associates, Winchester Hospital and Hallmark Health. He is currently board certified in Gastroenterology. His post-graduate training includes internship, residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, and fellowship in Gastroenterology at Duke University Medical Center. Libby received his BA in genetics from the University of California, Berkeley, and his MD from Harvard Medical School. Hegde joined Digestive Health Associates and DHA Endoscopy in September 2016.ĭr. His areas of clinical interest and expertise are Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy including Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), removal of large colonic polyps, Argon Plasma Coagulation Therapy and General Gastroenterology. He has been on the faculty of the Gastroenterology Division at the University of Maryland Medical Center and in the Gastroenterology Division at Tufts Medical Center where he served as EndoscopyUnit Director. His Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship was at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, PA. His post-graduate training includes internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at Tufts Medical Center and Gastroenterology Fellowship Training at the University of Pennsylvania. Hegde received his MD from Tufts University School of Medicine. He has additional training in therapeutic endoscopic procedures including ERCP. Fefferman's clinical interests include colon cancer screening and prevention, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, esophageal disorders, as well as treating diseases of the liver and pancreas. Fefferman joined Digestive Health Associates in 2005 and is board certified in Gastroenterology. He has authored multiple articles and chapters for medical journals and textbooks. Fefferman has assisted in teaching Gastroenterology at Harvard Medical School and is a Clinical Instructor in Medicine. Fefferman subsequently completed his Gastroenterology and Advanced Endoscopy training at Harvard Medical School's Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Fefferman graduated with honors and received his MD from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and then went on to complete his Internal Medicine training at Brown University School of Medicine's Rhode Island and Miriam Hospital. He manages a wide array of gastroenterology conditions, with specific interest in Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn's disease, colorectal cancer screening, and liver disease. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, where he also served as Chief Fellow. Ardolino received his BA in Chemistry and Romance Languages from Bowdoin College and his MD from University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
